Come and join Vocalescence and Sound Connection for their end of year show, to raise money for Eli. Eli is a member of our A Cappella community (his dad sings with Sound Connection and Mum used to sing with Vocalescence) and is in need of some things to help his quality of life after his “legs stopped working” that’s what Eli calls his illness!
In 2014 Eli was diagnosed with Autism. In 2015 he was diagnosed with ADHD. But Eli’s biggest battle was yet to come. In February of 2017 after months of fighting, Eli was diagnosed with a Connective Tissue Disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Eli doesn’t really understand what is happening to his body which is why he refers to that time as “When my legs stopped working properly”. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Eli’s family to assist in his ongoing care.
Presented by Australia’s newly crowned 2017 champion men’s chorus and Vocalescence - multi-award winning women’s chorus A Musical Extravaganza is hitting the Helensvale Cultural Centre. Come and be entertained and come and entertain!! There will be the opportunity for you to sing a long, Karaoke style, to your favourites from the musicals. Patrons are also invited to dress up as their favourite musicals character....let your imagination go wild! Cash bar and snacks will be available with all proceeds going to Eli????
Only $10 pp or $40 for a family of 4 or more.
Please feel free to share this wonderful community event and come along to support this great cause.

Vocalescence and Sound Connection came together once again to put on a magnificent show entitled Reflections: A Wonderful World Of Song.
The theme was to showcase and reflect on the wonderful year we have had in our choruses. With a lovely mix of ballads, uptunes and some festive christmas tunes the show was magnificent. The finale was the icing on the cake with a combined piece with both Vocalesecnce and Sound Connection wowing the audience with an arrangement of two songs by Gary Lewis, This Is My Wish/Wonderful World. This particular piece comprised of 18 seperate parts including 2 soloists, an Octet, a 4 part descant and the chorus.
The fun didnt stop there, after the show the audience were able to mingle with Vocalescence and Sound Connection during what we call an After Glow.
Overall a fantastic show and we are ever thankful to our audience for supporting us.
We had a very successful Bring a Friend Night with several ladies coming and singing with us at Helensvale Cultural Centre on Wednesday night.
We always love it when we have like minded women join us on the risers. Sharing our passions with our community is what makes singing in Vocalescence special!
If you missed our Bring a Friend Night, not to worry! Every Wednesday night is bring a friend night at Vocalescence, so if you are interested come down and say hi and have a sing with us!
Happily Ever After... Forever and Always
The Royal Invitation went out and we had many guests come and experience the magic of a cappella harmonies. Together with Australian champion all-male chorus Sound Connection we took our guests on a ‘twisted’ journey to the Fairy Princess reunion where Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmin, Snow White and Elsa with the help of their Fairy God Mother learnt that loving their princes can be diffiult sometimes however with hard work and commitment love will always conquer.
We had many other lovable fairy tale characters including the Seven Dwarfs, The Ginger Bread Man, Little Red Riding Hood, Jiminy Cricket, Bow Peep, Cruella DeVille, Captain Hook, Hansel and Grettle and the oh so scary Maleficent.

We enjoyed coming together with all the other Sunshine Region choruses that attended and congratulate them on their fabulous performances.

What a wonderful weekend! 3 successful shows done and dusted. Thanks to all our supporters who came and enjoyed the show and to all our volunteers that helped make it such a wonderful success. We would also like to thank all the quartets and our brothers in harmony, Sound Connection for sharing the stage with us.
Thanks to Hotel CBD Varsity Lakes for supporting the Vocalescence and Sound Connection show "An A Cappella Affair" with advertising and prize donations :-)
Vocalescence takes the stage as the smallest chorus in the contest with only 16 members on stage. We are small but mighty and so proud to be named Region 34 Small Chorus Champions. We could not have done it without the support and love from our members at home and our families who give up their time with us weekly to help us reach our goals. We are looking forward to Sydney 2014!
